The installation height of conference room audio varies depending on the size of the conference room and the type of speaker. Small conference rooms have small spaces and short sound propagation distances, so the accuracy requirements for speaker installation height are relatively low; large conference rooms have large spaces and complex sound propagation paths, so the design requirements for speaker installation height and angle are higher. Lichuang Ruihe will introduce conference rooms of different sizes and common speaker types.

Small conference room (less than 60 square meters)
Wall-mounted speakers: usually installed at a height of 2-2.5 meters. Taking a small conference room with an area of 40 square meters, 6 meters long and wide, and 3 meters high as an example, it is more appropriate to install the wall-mounted speakers at a height of 2.2 meters from the ground. This height allows the sound to effectively cover the indoor activity area of people, avoiding excessive sound concentration on the ceiling or the ground, causing volume attenuation or reflection interference. Participants can hear the sound clearly, and the layering and clarity of the sound can also be better guaranteed.

Ceiling speakers: The installation height is generally 0.2-0.5 meters below the ceiling. If the ceiling height of the small conference room is 3 meters, the ceiling speaker is installed at a distance of 0.3 meters from the ceiling. With its omnidirectional sound characteristics, it can achieve relatively uniform sound coverage in a small space, create a natural sound environment, and reduce sound dead angles.

Medium-sized conference room (area of 60-200 square meters)
Wall-mounted speakers: The installation height is generally 2.5-3 meters. For example, in a medium-sized conference room with a length of 12 meters, a width of 8 meters, and a height of 3.5 meters, the wall-mounted speakers are installed at a height of 2.8 meters, which can better take into account the auditory experience of the front and back row personnel. Such a height allows the sound to propagate at a suitable angle, and the back row personnel can also get enough volume, while reducing the attenuation of the sound during the propagation process caused by the speaker being too high and the impact of the reflected sound on the sound quality.

Ceiling speakers: Combined with the ceiling height, they are generally installed 0.3-0.6 meters below the ceiling. In the above-mentioned medium-sized conference room, if ceiling speakers are used and installed at a distance of 0.4 meters from the ceiling, multiple ceiling speakers can be reasonably arranged and their 360-degree sound characteristics can be used to evenly cover the entire conference room space, ensuring the uniformity and clarity of the sound, and meeting the need for comprehensive sound coverage during the meeting.

Large conference room (area greater than 200 square meters)
Linear array speakers: This type of speaker is often used in large conference rooms and is installed at a high height, generally 4-6 meters from the ground. In a large conference room with a floor height of 5 meters and an area of 300 square meters, it is common to install linear array speakers on both sides above the stage 5 meters from the ground. Linear array speakers have strong sound pressure levels and precise directivity control capabilities. Installing them at a high place can achieve effective sound coverage of the entire large conference room. By adjusting the angle of the speaker, the direction of sound propagation can be accurately controlled, sound reflections and interference can be reduced, and participants in every corner can hear the sound clearly.

Fill-in speakers: Large conference rooms may require fill-in speakers to enhance the sound intensity of specific areas (such as the back row or corners). The installation height of the supplementary sound box is determined according to the coverage of the main sound box and the on-site acoustic environment, generally between 2 and 3.5 meters. If the sound in the back row of a large conference room is weak, installing supplementary sound boxes on both sides of the back wall 2.5 meters from the ground can specifically increase the volume of the back row sound and ensure the consistency and integrity of the sound in the entire conference room.

The installation height of the conference room audio system needs to comprehensively consider factors such as the size, shape, and speaker type of the conference room. By setting the installation height reasonably, the sound propagation effect can be optimized to provide a clear and comfortable auditory environment for the meeting.
